Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has moved the Supreme Court seeking a 7-day extension of his interim bail. This move comes after the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) stated that Kejriwal may be experiencing symptoms of a serious disease and needs to undergo further medical tests.

Kejriwal, who was granted interim bail by the Delhi High Court on February 15 in a defamation case filed by BJP leader Vijender Gupta, was supposed to surrender before the trial court on February 24. However, citing health concerns, Kejriwal has now sought an extension of his bail to undergo medical tests.

The AAP, in its plea to the Supreme Court, has stated that Kejriwal has been experiencing persistent cough and diabetes-related issues. They have asked for a 7-day extension of the interim bail to allow him to undergo necessary medical tests and receive proper treatment.

The plea also mentioned that Kejriwal had previously undergone treatment for COVID-19 at a government hospital in Delhi. The party has expressed concern over his health and requested the court to grant the extension considering the current medical condition of the Chief Minister.

The Supreme Court is expected to hear the plea filed by Kejriwal seeking an extension of his interim bail in the coming days. The decision of the court will determine whether Kejriwal will be required to surrender before the trial court as per the earlier order or if his bail will be extended to allow for medical treatment.

The health concerns raised by the AAP have prompted a debate on social media, with many expressing their support for Kejriwal’s health and urging the court to consider his medical condition. As the situation unfolds, all eyes are on the Supreme Court’s decision regarding the extension of Kejriwal’s bail.

The outcome of this case will not only impact the legal proceedings against Kejriwal but also shed light on the importance of addressing health issues, especially during ongoing legal battles. The decision will be closely watched by political observers and citizens alike, as it pertains to the health and well-being of a prominent public figure.
