14 Tourists Killed as Tempo Traveller Falls into Alaknanda River in Uttarakhand

At least 14 tourists lost their lives in a tragic incident when a tempo traveller from Noida fell into the Alaknanda river in Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand. The incident occurred on Tuesday, leaving the nation shocked and saddened by the loss of innocent lives.

The ill-fated tempo traveller was carrying a group of tourists from Noida to the picturesque hill station of Auli in Uttarakhand. It is believed that the driver lost control of the vehicle while navigating a sharp turn on the hilly terrain, causing it to plunge into the Alaknanda river. Rescue operations were immediately initiated, and authorities swiftly reached the site to carry out the necessary measures.

The victims were mostly individuals from Uttar Pradesh and hailed from different parts of Noida. The deceased included six men, seven women, and one child, who sadly met their untimely demise in this unfortunate accident. The bodies were recovered from the river with the help of local divers and rescue teams.

The Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, Pushkar Singh Dhami, expressed his condolences to the families of the deceased and announced compensation of INR 2 lakhs for the kin of each victim. He also assured that a thorough investigation would be conducted to determine the cause of the accident and hold those responsible accountable.
